How much value do factory options add to a Mercedes?
Asked by Peter
I’m thinking of buying a Mercedes. I have looked at your pricing guide which is between $66,400 and $71,800 and wish to know how much the option packages add to the valuation guide. It has AMG and vision packages as well as ceramic coating and metallic paint.

30 Dec 2022Factory options can add to the resale price of a vehicle, but not the full amount that they cost when the car was ordered new. Which means the AMG equipment and vision package will take the vehicle closer to the higher valuation. Some options are more highly valued than others, too, and the AMG package is one of them.
As for aftermarket (or dealership-fitted) options such as ceramic paint treatment, fabric protection and tinted windows, regardless of what the seller tells you, these add very little – if anything – to the resale value.
