2024 Skoda Octavia wagon and sedan facelifted and updated to take on Mazda 6, Toyota Camry, Honda Accord when it comes to Australia

Skoda has confirmed details for its updated Octavia wagon and sedan, focusing on design and tech changes while adding new mild-hybrid variants to the line-up.
With only international details confirmed for now, and Australian pricing and specs expected closer to its local arrival, the 2024 Skoda Octavia has a tweaked face and updated tech hardware inside.
Currently available in three variants, and with just two drivetrain options in Australia, it’s unlikely there will be a major difference in the Octavia’s running gear here.

Australian Octavias use a 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine shared with the Volkswagen Golf, while the mild-hybrid additions to the range come with a 1.5-litre engine.
While it’s yet to be seen if this will prompt different drivetrains on offer in Australia, what will change when the updated model arrives is the Octavia’s front-end styling.
Headlights now feature an inner element that is more angled towards the lower grille (itself with a revised design), and now also come with LED Matrix beam.
A 10-inch central multimedia display is paired with a same-sized driver display, while a 13.0-inch multimedia display is optional for the first time in Octavia.
A ChatGPT AI chatbot will also be integrated with the system, Skoda says, with “a variety of new capabilities that go far beyond the previous voice commands”.
Skoda has also improved the driver attention and drowsiness alert, enabling it to “use a wide range of data and parameters to assess driver behaviour”.
Australian details will be confirmed closer to its local arrival.
