A wide-reaching recall has been issued by Honda Australia concerning 16,001 vehicles sold between 2021 and 2024.
The recall affects current generation Honda CR-V medium SUV, Civic hatch, Civic Type R and ZR-V small SUV.
According to the recall notice, the issue is with the Electronic Power Steering system. “The worm wheel grease may be displaced over time”, reads the bulletin. ”This may result in abnormal steering noise and greater steering effort.”

The increased effort required to turn the steering wheel “could increase the risk of an accident-causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users”, it says.
Honda Australia will contact owners of impacted vehicles in writing, with owners encouraged to contact their local dealer where the issue will be rectified free of charge.
