Ram Trucks Australia has confirmed pricing and specification details for Australia's fatest and most powerful truck, with the Ram 1500 TRX set to redefine workhorse performance.
Powered by a 6.2-litre supercharged HEMI V8, the Ram TRX numbers are, quite simply, ridiculous –and make the Toyota HiLux and Ford Ranger look as though they're powered by AA batteries.
The big eight-cylinder donk generates 523kW and 882Nm, which is enough, Ram says, to knock off a sprint to 100km/h in 4.5 seconds. And that's plenty quick for something that's the size of a small office block.

But to have the power, you must first have the money, with Ram charging $199,950 before on-road costs for the TRX.
“The TRX sets new benchmarks for extreme performance trucks and confirms the Australian market as a true success story for Ram Trucks,” says Neville Crichton, Chairman of the Ateco Group, which owns Ram Trucks Australia.
Engine aside, the TRX also arrives with a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, a dual-path air induction system to keep the powertrain cool, a full-time active transfer case, and an all-new suspension system with active damping, and forged aluminium front upper and lower control arms, all of which has reportedly been modelled off desert racers.
There's also a Dana 60 solid rear axle, an electronic locking rear differential, front and rear 2.6-inch Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks, and Goodyear Wrangler Territory 325/65/R18 All-Terrain 35-inch tires.
Inside, you'll find a Uconnect 12.0-inch portrait touchscreen, and a 900-watt, 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system .
