The only all-paw Countryman, the SD All4 sits atop the family tree and packs a 2.0-litre diesel engine under that bonnet, good for 140kW at 4,000rpm and an impressive 400Nm from 1,750rpm. That's enough to knock off the 100km/h sprint in 7.4seconds (matching that of the Cooper S).
Expect 18-inch alloys, leather-trimmed seats, dual-zone climate and a powered boot you can open by waving your foot under the rear bumper to appear on the standard features list. You'll also find keyless entry, a 6.5-inch screen paired with a six-speaker stereo and a light function that illuminates the Mini logo on the footpath when you unlock the car.
Safety is impressive right across the Countryman range, and the SD All4 is no exception, with AEB, active cruise and street-sign recognition joining a reversing camera, parking sensors and a self-parking system.
