The Ascent Sport is the second-rung up in the Camry range, offering mainly visual upgrades over its base Ascent compatriot.
It is available exclusively with the 2.5-litre four-cylinder hybrid engine option, wearing an MSRP of $36,290, and other upgrades include a standard 9.0-inch multimedia touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and built-in satellite navigation.
This is in addition to the base hybrid's 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, cloth interior trim, keyless entry with push-start igntion and a wide angle reversing camera.
On the safety front the Ascent sport also adds to the base car's auto emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keep assist, with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. The Camry range is covered by a maximum five-star ANCAP safety rating to the 2017 standards.
The only 2.5-litre four-cylinder hybrid engine option for the Ascent Sport provides a combined 160kW of power and 221Nm of torque. It drives the front wheels via a continuously variable automatic transmission. There is no longer a V6 engine option in the Camry range.
