Though a five-seater, the Holden Equinox served as the Captiva replacement in the vital mid-size SUV class against the Toyota RAV4.
Launched in 2017, a trio of four-cylinder turbo engines were offered – a base 1.5-litre (manual or auto, LS only), mainstay 2.0 petrol auto (LT, LTZ) and a 1.6 diesel auto. The latter two engines offered all-wheel drive as an option to the standard front-wheel drive layout.
But slow sales saw the Mexican-made, Astra small-car based Equinnox discontinued, along with the Holden brand, in 2020.
Currently, the Equinox can be had in a variety of flavours from the $16,590 Equinox LT Black Edition (fwd) to the $26,990 Equinox LT Black Edition (fwd).
