In the world of luxury SUVs, bigger means better. So, when the Lexus LBX hit the Australian market in 2024, it was difficult to see how the smallest premium SUV on the market – which shares a platform with the Toyota Yaris Cross – could be a commercial success.
But in the textbook Lexus (Toyota) way of doing things, what appeared as a gamble was a wise business decision. In just the first five months of sale, the LBX shot to Lexus’ third-best-selling vehicle, proving that a luxury vehicle can't in fact be too small.
The line-up currently starts at $47,550 for the LBX Luxury 2WD (hybrid) and ranges through to $78,240 for the range-topping LBX Morizo RR TWO-Tone.
