    Toyota Supra Review, For Sale, Colours, Interior & Models in Australia

    Toyota's two-door Supra sports car had a long and interesting life in the Australian market, before going off sale in 2002. The Supra is finally set to return in 2019 with its latest 'A90' iteration after a long prototype period.

    In a similar plan that Toyota has with Subaru for the 86/BRZ twins, Toyota has partnered with BMW to help the German company build its next generation Z4 sports car. This gives Toyota access to BMW's straight-six engines which the Supra's cheif engineer, Tetsuya Tada, says is important for keeping the car true to its roots.

    This vehicle is also known as Toyota Celica XX (until 1986), Toyota Celica Supra.

    • Toyota Supra 1989: How much are they worth?

      The quoted average retail price is $4000-$6000, but the car you are talking about would attract a premium due to its low kays and condition, so you could easily double that.

    • Not such a supra idea

      YOU are right to be concerned. Toyota builds sound cars and the Supra is one of them, but in Australia it's an orphan without support from the factory. Added to which it's 12 years old and increasingly likely to break down, and when it does you're left in the hands of small importers for parts. I couldn't recommend you buy one.

    • Worth the price

      The answer you'd get from the trade is that it's worth about $8000. But it sounds like a gem that might be worth more than the average '87 Supra. With such low mileage it should be in good overall condition. I would think it is worth up to $10,000.
