Mitsubishi Triton 2007: Blocked fuel injectors

Asked by Jim. W

The engine in my 2007 Mitsubishi Triton is engine cutting out, using a lot of fuel, and running rough. A diesel specialist said that the fuel return was blocked, but my repairer advised me that it would cost $700 per injector to fix it by fitting new injectors. Could you please show some light on what might have caused problem?

The injectors used in all of these Japanese common-rail diesels wear and that's likely to be your problem. The only course of action is to replace them, as you have been advised.
