323 ignition coils

Asked by Joyce Wilks

At times my 2001 Mazda 323 Astina has lost power and idled very roughly, but then it seems to clear and run well. I have been told I will need new Ignition coils and they are very expensive. I heard that they have been a problem in Mazdas in the past. Has Mazda recalled these cars because if this? Do you think it's worth asking Mazda for assistance with the cost?

There has been no recall on this, and I doubt Mazda would be terribly interested in a 2001 model car. There is little you can do other than follow the advice your mechanic has given you.
