Holden Barina 1999: Correct tyre pressures?

Asked by John Auger

The original tyres on our 1999 Holden Barina were 165/70 R13 and pressures were 35 psi front and 32 psi rear. Our tyres are now 195/50 R15 and the tyre fitters recommend 36 psi all round. What should they be?

Tyre fitters will often recommend higher tyre pressures as it can improve the handling, but 36 psi would seem too high, particularly in a little car like the Barina. I would run them at 30-32 psi front and rear.
