Ask Smithy Xtra Holden Vectra timing belt

Asked by Richard Lee.

Though the service book claims the timing belt in my 2004 Holden Vectra CDXi with 168,000 km on the odo needs changing I have heard from my mechanic that this is not required till 120,000 km/240,000 km. How do I find out for sure?

Our information is that it needs to be changed at intervals of 120,000 km. If you want to confirm that, I suggest you contact Holden’s Customer Assistance Service.
