Toyota Aurion 2010: Varying fuel consumption

Asked by Warner Smith

The fuel consumption I get from the Toyota Aurion I bought new earlier this year varies a lot ? from 8.4 L/100 km to 13.9 L/100 km? and has started knocking after just 20,000 km. Is this reasonable?

The fuel consumption does appear to vary a lot, too much I would suggest, so I would definitely have the dealer check it. The knocking noise could indicate a faulty knock sensor.
