Toyota Aurion 2010: Problems with build quality

Asked by Mike Ward

Which Australia Standard applies to the quality for the fit and finish of cars manufactured in Australia. The reason I am seeking this information is that I purchased a Toyota Aurion Prodigy in 2010 and discovered defects in the boot lid fit, the carpet and the roof lining. I currently have a case pending at the CTTT and will be required to provide a build standard to support my case. Your help would be most appreciated.

I don’t believe there is any such standard applying to build quality. What you would need to do is to bring in someone experienced in the industry and present their opinion to the tribunal. You could try Graeme Cuthbert (0422 444 335).
