I have recently been to my Nissan dealer to report the same bubbled dash problem on our 2004 Nissan Patrol that Alan Wylie reported he has on his Patrol (Carsguide, August 24, 2012), but we were told that nothing could be done for us. Nissan Australia told us that the warranty was for four years, but it had been extended to 7 years to fix this issue, but our car is outside that time period. But it is obviously a flaw in Nissan's production. Do you think I can, or should take this further as our car is severely affected and, in my opinion, only months out of their "extended" warranty? I would be happy to pay $480 labour costs.

7 Sep 2012It gets harder to mount a case for a car that is as old as your is, but if you take a reasonable approach and are willing to compromise, as you seem to be by accepting the labour costs, I think you should pursue it. It is clearly a problem and the company has the responsibility for its products no matter their age.
