Toyota Camry 2003: Does it have a cam timing chain or belt?
Asked by Steve Ogle
A friend of mine has a Toyota Camry Altise and was told that they have a timing chain and not a belt. I have a similar 2003 Toyota Camry Sportivo and haven't been looking forward to getting the belt changed at 100,000 km, but perhaps I don't have to after all. Is my friend correct that these models do have a chain?

28 Oct 2010The 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine in the Camry 30 Series does have a timing chain rather than a belt and it doesn't need to be serviced as your friend was told.
