Nissan Navara 2016: Sump leak

Asked by Philip

My 2016 Nissan Navara NP300, developed a sump cover seal leak at 6000 km, Nissan resealed before we travelled 9400 km, but just before getting home it developed the same leak again. Nissan is now replacing the complete sump to solve the problem. My car is not the only one with this problem, as our dealer has now done a few and Nissan has known about this problem. Can this affect the rest of the motor?

Unless it’s a massive leak that drains the oil from the engine, which is most unlikely, it won’t affect the engine.
