Clunking gearbox noise when reversing Veloster

Asked by Paul Booth

When I back my 2012 Hyundai Veloster up the slight incline in my driveway to the road there is a clunking noise from the gearbox when I take my foot of the gas and put it back on again. It's like backlash on a rear drive diff. Do you think this is normal for a double clutch gearbox or not?

It is probably backlash in the driveline, as you say like that you would experience in a rear-drive diff. If it's only happening when you backing out of the driveway I wouldn't be concerned about it.
