My 83-year-old granny has decided to update her 2008 VW Golf. She loves driving and I'm not afraid to get in the car with her, even at her age. She wants to downgrade so I'm thinking of the VW Polo 81TSI as she still wants something that's got a little extra "oomph" — her word — when taking off from traffic lights.

19 Jan 2015The Polo will be a top choice but don't overlook the Honda Jazz. It's a different style of car, not feeling as solid as the VW, but lively with good outward vision.
