Asked by Louis Honeyman
I have just purchased a 2001 Nissan Pulsar Q sedan as a first car, and for the most part I am extremely happy with it. One anomaly I have noticed however is that the temperature gauge tends to fluctuate while on the move, rather than reach the middle of the gauge and remain there. For example, it might increase a bit at first, then reach the middle, but then decrease again. Could this be an issue with the thermostat, or an issue with the electrical system?

9 Jun 2017It’s unlikely to be electrical, or the gauge itself. It’s more likely to be the thermostat, but before you do anything make sure the cooling system is filled to the full mark.
