Focus or Cerato to replace Aurion?

Asked by Gerard Hesp

My trouble-free 2009 Toyota Aurion has been an easy car to own. I reckon, it’s a bit underrated. I wasn’t ever a white goods-on-wheels Camry fan but the Aurion has really surprised me. I like the 200kW V6. Soon I’ll be looking for a new car. Practicality rules out a hot hatch, so I’m comparing the Focus Trend and Cerato Si, both 2.0-litre. I prefer a manual, the Kia has a six-speed, and both seem to have good suspension setups.

The Kia gets The Tick from me, because it’s better value but also because of the excellent suspension work done by Aussie guru and Carsguide friend Graeme Gambold.
