Ford Escape 2012: Dripping oil after service
Asked by Keith
Ever since the 30,000 km service on our Ford Escape it has been dripping oil. The dealer told me the engine seal had probably hardened and he recommended using an additive to soften it, which I did, but it is still leaking. I checked the oil level today and it is showing about 15 mm above the full line. Is it possible that the car could have been over-filled and is spilling oil?

13 Dec 2013It's unlikely, but you could drain the oil and refill it with the correct volume of oil and see if it goes away. But I would take it to a mechanic and have them tell you what the problem is.
