Ford Kuga 2014: Accelerator and reverse not working
Asked by Clare
My 2014 Ford Kuga Titanium, 2.0-litre, 5-cylinder diesel is starting to sound rough. A warning light flashed up on the dash and then would not go into reverse and the accelerator felt rock hard. It sat for five hours and when I started it again it was fine. Is this a common problem, will it get worse? I bought the car second hand two years ago.

16 Aug 2019It sounds like a problem with the dual-clutch transmissions electronic control, so take the car to a Ford dealer and have it assessed. Turning the engine off and then restarting it again will often reboot the computer and fix the problem in the short term, but there is an underlying issue that needs to be fixed.
