Ford Ranger 2019: Motor cutting out

Asked by Pat

My 2019 bi-turbo Ford Ranger Wildtrak's motor cuts out/or doesn't respond from a stop or worst case stops in a roundabout or doing a U-turn. Worst case is I have to put it in Park and restart engine. Ford dealer didn't find anything on first check, but now say they don't have an answer. Looks like a sensor problem to me.

It could well be a sensor problem, but actually pinning it down when it only happens intermittently is difficult and there might not be anything obviously at fault when the dealer checks the car. There’s no simple answer, except to keep on trying to fix it.
