The transmission in my 2012 Ford Territory failed and I have replaced it with a second hand one but the clunk is still there. The suppliers of the transmission now say it's the transfere case that needs replacing, can the transfere case cause the clunk that I'm hearing, and was there a recall on transmission in the 2012 model?

13 Dec 2019Theoretically, yes the transfer case could cause a clunk from the drivetrain, but without hearing the noise in person it is next to impossible to diagnose. You can find all recalls issued by Ford here.
