Ford Falcon 2011: Seat moves by itself

Asked by Bill Potts

The driver's seat in my 2011 Ford Falcon G6E seems to have developed a mind of its own. When the car is left unattended it is quite common to return to the car to find the seat has moved, usually fully forward to a position under the steering wheel. It does not matter if the car has been locked or not and it does not appear to move to one of the five pre-set positions. The saved settings are usually lost when this happens. A similar memory loss problem occurs with the passenger side rear vision mirror, which goes down okay when reverse is selected, but does not always come back up. Ford says there is no record of this happening before with the G6E. Do you have any thoughts on what could be causing this strange behaviour?

I would have to suspect a problem with the controlling ECU and I would having Ford check it out.
