Nissan X-Trail 2002: Problem with gauges

Asked by Matt Carroll

My 2002 T30 Nissan X-Trail is causing me headaches. It drives fine, but all the gauges keep going out. Sometimes they work fine for a minute or two but then they will just get 'stuck'. It's happening over the whole control panel: speedo, tacho, heat and fuel gauge. I also lose the odometer reading, but it does keep correct mileage next time it is working. Any help is much appreciated.

It needs closer inspection by an auto electrician or Nissan specialist. It could be something as simple as a bad connection in the wiring loom.
