My husband and I are in th process of buying a new diesel vehicle that will tow a caravan of about 3.e5 tonnes and we are looking at the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Nissan Navara, Ford Everest and Toyota HiLux. Everyone we have spoken to that has a Jeep raves about them, yet other people when we mention Jeeps reply, "Don't buy one of them, they are terrible." The Navara is very powerful but very big and I don't particularly like the open tray although I know we can have a cover built. What can you tell us about the other two?

9 May 2016The Navara and HiLux would be out, for me, because they are utes and you shouldn't be buying a truck just because it can tow well. The Grand Cherokee is a great drive but I also hear lots of complaints, so the Everest — engineered in Australia and based on the classy Ford Ranger ute — would be my pick as the smart choice.
