Jeep Grand Cherokee 2012: Struggling on reverse incline

Asked by Howard

My home has a driveway that drops down from street level into the garage, so when I leave I have to reverse up a small incline to the street. When I start my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel in the garage in the morning I have to wait about a minute before I reverse, otherwise the car does not have enough power to make it up the incline. After it has warmed up, there are no problems. I asked about it at the last service, but no one seemed to have an answer and there was no problem found. Is this normal?

No, it's not normal. Take it back to the dealer and ask that they recheck it, and if nothing shows up as being abnormal, ask that they consult head office.
