Is it necessary to replace the head gasket when replacing the timing belt, tensioner and idler pulleys in a 2002 JS Holden Vectra with manual transmission at the 120,000 km logbook service? The rocker cover gasket was also replaced at the same service, owing to an oil leak.

3 Feb 2011No, there is no need to do the head gasket while replacing the timing belt, that would have been done for some other reason.
