Recently I had to replace an actuator in the driver's side door that controls the central locking in my 2009 Honda Accord VTI at a cost of $350. No more than a week later the drivers side rear door actuator went as well at a further cost of $350, the guy's at Peninsula Honda stated that it had most likely been weakened by the first occurrence. Blow me down if the passenger's side rear door actuator goes two weeks later. The dealer said they had never heard of that happening and contacted Honda to see if they would come to the party and fix at their cost. Honda said that because the car is out of warranty they wouldn't fix it, but the dealer has offered to fix it at cost of part minus the labour. I have taken them up on the offer, but am extremely disappointed at Honda and will now never purchase one of their models again and I will also be making sure anyone I speak to knows of their lack of help. Should I chase this up further? Is this something that Honda should accept that is out of the ordinary?

2 Nov 2012You could pursue Honda directly, but I doubt that you will win. The dealer has done the right thing by you and helped out with the cost of repairs, so I would accept that and get on with your life.
