Hyundai i30: Should I buy a Premium or a SR Premium?

Asked by Allen Blyth

I am contemplating purchasing a new Hyundai i30, either the Premium or the SR Premium. I do approximately 12,000 km per annum, a mixture of suburban and country driving, and occasionally tow a 6' x 4' trailer containing firewood. I was wondering whether the 1.6-litre turbo-diesel or the 1.6-litre turbo petrol would be better suited for this purpose?

Both would be suitable for your use, but the final decision should be based on how much country driving and towing you do. If it's mostly country then I would err towards the diesel, but if it’s more town or line ball I would go for the petrol engine.
