I have owned a Subaru Impreza RS since mid-2003 and would buy another tomorrow if they still had the 2.5-litre motor in them. Mine has the 2.5-litre motor and a 5-speed manual, and has now done 220,000 km. I replaced the clutch at 142,000 km, and the front and rear wheel bearings at about the same time. I have also used one set of rotors and pads, and have machined the rotors a couple of times. Around town I average 9-10 L/100 km and on a trip that drops down to mid 7s. It still drives like new and my wife and I love it. I was only offered $3000 as a trade on new Subaru and I am not happy with the current 2.0-litre motor. A well maintained one of these is a great choice for young driver, given its AWD and safety - top car

2 May 2014It's always nice to hear from someone who is happy with his or her car, and happy to recommend them to others. The Impreza is a sound car, one that should be on the shopping list of those looking for a car for their children.
