I RECENTLY bought a 2001 Nissan Patrol with the 3.0-litre turbodiesel engine, and the engine has since blown up. I have seen the stories in the Carsguide about the piston problems with this engine and have been told the EGR valve causes it. I would appreciate your advice.

7 Dec 2007BLOWN pistons are a common problem on the 3.0-litre turbodiesel Patrol, particularly those early ones like yours. I recommend you contact Nissan Customer Relations, ph: 1800 035 035, and ask them to rebuild your engine.
