Kia Cerato 2015: Why does my radio have so much static noise?

Asked by Keith

When driving the static is quite noticeable, but it decreases when the ignition is in accessory mode. The car is a 2015 Kia Cerato still under warranty and yet the Kia service seems to ignore the problem at service time. What should I do?

I assume it’s with AM reception. It’s usually put down to the antenna. The most likely reason they’re ignoring it is that there is little they can do about it. You could take it to a car radio specialist and see what they might be able to do about the problem.
