Kia rio timing belt

Asked by Patrick O'Sullivan

IS IT necessary to change a cam timing belt when the time is up? My wife's Kia Rio has done 28,000km. Can I leave it until the required kilometres are up?

I favour following the maker's recommendation when it comes to maintenance. It might seem unnecessary expense when nothing wrong's, but better safe than sorry.
