I'm looking into buying a secondhand 2004 Nissan Patrol 4WD and am wondering about the GU patrol engine problems. Is the grenade engine problem constrained to particular years? How about mileage? Do they blow up early or at high km? Should I buy one or give the model a miss?
Answered by CarsGuide
9 Dec 2016I wouldn't recommend buying an old Patrol with the 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine, such as the one you are looking at. It's right in the zone of death when it comes to the turbo-diesel engine, and it will have done a million miles.
