WE RECENTLY traded a 2003 Mercedes-Benz C180 on a 2000 CLK 430, which we love because it offers classic styling in a two-door coupe: prestige motoring, wonderful road-holding and fantastic V8 performance in a European sports car. Also, we have a vast array of luxury items that would normally be beyond our means because this car was more than $135,000 new. The money we saved enabled us to put in a premium after-market in-built DVD/satellite navigation system as well as an ipod and hands-free mobile phone system. Our belief is the CLK will suit our needs for quite a few years. We have even found that the Mercedes V8 is quite frugal when driven appropriately. The big thing we love is that we have a luxury performance coupe that won't date any further than it has already. Are there any issues or problems we should be aware of?

29 Mar 2007NOT really. The CLK430 is a great car and should give you years of motoring pleasure. The only thing to be aware of is that it is a couple of years older than your C-Class, but Benz quality is good enough and you shouldn't have any specific problems. The key is to keep up the servicing.
