MY 2006 turbo-diesel Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo has done only 28,000 km and the next service is a big one. The Mopar products Jeep use are very expensive, but as the car is just out of warranty I wonder if you could recommend using other good generic brand products that would be much cheaper? Do you know why the Mopar oils are so expensive?

5 Mar 2010The reason they're expensive is the name on the packaging, and because they're being used by Chrysler-Jeep dealers they can really charge whatever they like. You can safely use any of the better-known brands, like Shell, Castrol, Pennzoil.
