Nissan Navara 2008: Rusted roof

Asked by Leanne

I have had my 2008 Nissan Navara D40 since new, and the roof has rusted so badly it's now leaking water. I have approached Nissan as it's rusting under their badly designed sealant in the roof channels, but they have told me it's only cosmetic and they aren't interested. Is anyone else having the same issue, and should I be worried about how structurally sound the car is now?

You should have it checked to see if the rust has affected the structure of the car, as that would impact its roadworthiness and slash the resale value.
