Nissan Pulsar 2002: Keeps cutting out

My 2002 Nissan Pulsar cuts out while driving at first. It will start straight away, but then each time it cuts out it takes longer to restart.

The first thing to do is to give it a tune-up, with new spark plugs, replace the air cleaner, and clean the throttle body.
