I read your comments about the clutch and flywheel in the Nissan Navara and thought I'd add my comments. Our Nissan Patrol is less than five years old and has done only 45,000 km, and the whole clutch and dual-mass flywheel collapsed. To add to the insult our local dealer and Nissan Australia did not want to know us. I've also spoken to another owner who had the same thing happen to them at 65,000 km, and they also got no help from Nissan.

7 Nov 2014Carmakers, and it appears Nissan in particular, choose to hide behind their warranties, which exclude wear and tear items. But I believe you could argue that the extremely short clutch life that many people are experiencing with vehicles fitted with dual-mass flywheels makes them unfit for purpose under our consumer laws. Something needs to be done. Perhaps you could get other owners to join you in an approach to Nissan on the problem.
