Asked by Malcolm and Michele Hope
We are looking at buying a 2010 or 2011 Ford Territory for a tow vehicle and also for my partner, Michele, to drive as an everyday car. We are not sure if we should buy a diesel or petrol, but we are buying an 18-foot caravan so we will need the 2300kg towing capacity. Our budget is $24,000.

30 Mar 2015The Territory should work fine, but ensure it's had the suspension updates. Diesel will be better for towing, especially fuel economy, although I generally advise petrol if you're doing less than 30,000km a year.
