Plugged in to hybrids

Asked by Suzanne Blake

WITH these new hybrids, if I need to plug it in to recharge does it mean I have to stay in for the night? Or drive around on the other motor? What about a flat to full charge, is this expensive on home power or do I have to cover my roof with sun panels to keep the costs down?

A HYBRID such as the Toyota Prius recharges the battery as you drive along, so there's no need to plug it in to mains power to recharge it.
