WHEN we took in our 2003 Ford Escape V6 auto for its 30,000km service we asked our dealer to check out a vibrating, rumbling noise I thought was coming from the torque converter as the car changed down from overdrive. There was no improvement, so we took it back for them to look at again. They then reported that the sound was noticed when the gearbox was warmed up and that the gearbox oil was found to be low and needed more than a litre of oil. At 50,000km the noise is still there. Have you heard of this problem?

25 Sep 2009I HAVEN'T had any other complaints about this problem, so can't really help, but perhaps other owners might let us know if they have had the problem and what was done to fix it.
