I OWN a 1996 Prado GXL that has done 149,000km. I plan several trips this year covering more than 5000km and was thinking of changing my spark plugs before I go. My regular mechanic tells me not to bother.

17 Mar 2006LISTEN to your mechanic. If there's no sign of a problem, I wouldn't change them. But if your trips are going to take you way off the beaten track, consider changing the plugs as part of a service before you leave.
