THE service manual for my 2000 Mitsubishi Lancer 1.8L GLI says I should replace the timing belt at 100,000km or five years. My car is now six years old and has only done 35,000km. Do you think I should have it done?

24 Aug 2006THE belt deteriorates with age as well as kilometres. I would recommend you have it changed. The potential consequences of not doing it far outweigh the saving from not doing it.
