I HAVE done 14,100km in my NP Mitsubishi Pajero Exceed auto diesel, but the odometer shows 14,700km, an error of 4 per cent. The speedo reading is also incorrect by 8 per cent. When I asked my dealer to remedy it, I was told this was impossible and, anyway, they were allowed an error of +/- 10 per cent. Is there is any way to correct it?

3 Aug 2006THE dealer is right. The law allows a 10 per cent margin of error and there is no way to adjust it. I don't know how you determined the errors, but most methods of measurement have their own errors. The best way to check accuracy is by global positioning.
