Mitsubishi Triton: Drop in power

Asked by Erin

We have just been driving to Queensland in my partner's 2006 Mitsubishi Triton 3.2 turbo diesel, which struggled to get up hills. Doing 110 km/h it would drop to at least 80 km/h. He changed the suction control valve, but it was clean, and his EGR valve was blocked off as he has had manifold problems before. I was wondering what this problem could be?

I would be looking at the fuel supply, the filters, fuel pump, and the fuel itself. If the performance generally has dropped off I would also be looking at the turbocharger.
